Spring Cleaning

Today is the vernal equinox, the first day of spring. One of my favorite ways to jump off my summer shape up is with a cleanse. Cleanses will gently rid your body of impurities, regain an alkaline balance and normalize digestion and metabolism. It is my favorite way to reset my mind, body, and spirit.
For the past couple of years I had been doing the lemonade cleanse or the master cleanse. Here is a link
http://mastercleanseinstructions.com/ in which you basically live on only lemonade juice, water, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup for ten days. People will argue that this can't possibly be healthy for you but it is always good to give our digestive tracts a break from all of the garabe we put in our bodies.

The first three days are the hardest then if you have will power of steel you can coast through the remaining seven days. This cleanse is extremely cheap to make since you can find all of the ingredients from your grocery store but there are several sites online you can order from if you prefer to not have to deal with measuring and mixing.

Last fall I was introduced to the Blue Print Cleanse, http://blueprintcleanse.com/, a three day supply costs about $225 but I can not praise this enough! This is hands down the best cleanse I have ever done in my life! To be honest something about spending $225 makes it alot easier to stick with as opposed to the lemonade cleanse which is maybe $20.

They have three different types of cleanses you can choose from given your experience level and tastes. I did cleanse #2, the foundation. You drink six bottles a a day for 3 days, the 3 day cleanse is the suggested mininum but obviously you can do more. The bottles are numbered in the order you are supposed to drink them. Its pretty straight forward.  They also give you a tiny way to cheat, because realistically these cleanses aren't easy. Here is a small list of what they will permit you to have while cleansing.  If at any time you need questions answered their customer service is amazing, you call and speak to a live person.

Breaking the Cleanse Sample Menu:

Day 1 – A few pieces of fruit spread out through the day, or some fresh squeezed non-pasteurized juice (green/citrus/fruit). If you wish to drink some freshly squeezed juice, be sure to dilute it with some water.

Day 2 - Raw or lightly steamed vegetables, e.g. spinach, broccoli, try to avoid the more starchy veggies like carrots, beets, squash etc. You may also have a raw green leafy salad with some vegetables.

Day 3 – Green salads should be your staple at this point. If you’re craving some more sustenance, you may choose plain brown rice (a small portion), or a yam or sweet potato.

Day 4 – If you eat meat, you may incorporate some now - lightly steamed or poached fish, with veggies and a salad of course!

Day 5 – Other more “dense” foods are now able to gradually make a come back to your diet.

I highly recommend doing a cleanse first before starting any new fitness plan.
Here's to health, wealth, and amazing bikini bodies!!
